The Application Specialist plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise and support for sales, distribution, and transportation applications.
This position serves as the main point of contact for functional expertise and support of solutions that underpin Transportation, Sales, Order Management and Distribution workflows. You will triage issues to internal support, vendors, or partners to ensure the solutions are operating effectively. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth implementation, operation, maintenance, and performance of the transportation management systems (TMS) and related integrations within the enterprise, while supporting upstream and downstream impacts to order capture, order fulfillment, and distribution execution.

Responsibilities
- Identify, analyze, resolve, and document issues related to sales orders and transportation processes, as well as their integration with key applications (mainly MercuryGate, FourKites, and JD Edwards). Ensure prompt coordination for issue resolution and clearly communicate status updates and impacts.
- Participate in the enhancement and configuration of the core ERP, TMS, and supporting tools and processes, adapting software applications to meet specific business requirements.
- Monitor system performance and ensure data accuracy between TMS, ERP, and other platforms.
- Manage upgrades of supported platforms and recommend improvements to enhance system performance, availability, and functionality.
- Champion the adoption of new features and improvements across the enterprise in Transportation, Sales and Distribution space.
- Collaborate with developers and other technical teams to address technical challenges, mitigate risks, implement fixes, and ensure the smooth operation of applications. Facilitate development of new integrations.
- Ensure supported applications comply to JDI application and technology standards and operational best practices.
- Provide 'go live' and post 'go live' support for transformation and optimization projects.
Qualifications
- Education Required: A university degree, college diploma or a related discipline
- 3-5 years of professional work experience
- Prior experience processing/supporting Logistics and Supply Chain processes.
- Working knowledge of Sales and Distribution processes (order-to-cash/order-to-ship), including order management, customer commitments, picking/shipping, and exception management.
- Knowledge and experience in MercuryGate TMS, FourKites, and JD Edwards applications is an asset
