DescriptionCFM is seeking a Field Safety Advisor to join our team in Saint John, NB. You will play a key role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees, contractors, and surrounding communities. You will support the development and implementation of safety programs, maintain a strong field presence, and collaborate closely with operations to foster a proactive culture of safety excellence.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong and visible field presence, emphasizing proactive prevention and leading‑indicator activities.
- Partner with management and operations to reinforce safety expectations through consistent coaching and engagement. Provide expertise and guidance on safety standards, best practices, and risk‑mitigation strategies.
- Assist employees in identifying hazards and implementing effective controls to reduce risk.
- Maintain and support the execution of safety policies and procedures aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements. Continuously identify opportunities to improve safety processes, procedures, and technologies.
- Deliver training, toolbox talks, and safety awareness sessions to strengthen knowledge and reinforce safe work behaviors.
- Lead thorough investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring accurate documentation, root‑cause analysis, and follow‑up on corrective actions
- Manage key health and safety programs, including audits, safety meetings, and Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSCs).
- Monitor compliance with internal and external requirements and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Analyze safety KPIs and incident data to identify trends, emerging risks, and improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Safety or related discipline.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably across diverse industries. Knowledge of OHS regulations within the Maritime provinces, including NB, NS and NL, as well as CSA standards and industry best practices.
- Completion of or commitment to complete NBCSA COR Training.
- Strong knowledge of provincial safety regulations.
- Experience developing and delivering safety training.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to travel.
Salary Range: $71,500 - $105,000
