Description

J.D. Irving, Ltd is seeking a results‑driven Key Account Manager to join our Lumber Sales team and lead strategic customer relationships within our Pine Group. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role combines hands‑on ownership of key accounts with people leadership and cross‑functional collaboration.

While experience in lumber or forest products is considered an asset, we welcome candidates with strong B2B key account management experience from adjacent industries who bring a consultative mindset, commercial acumen, and the ability to succeed in a dynamic, supply‑driven environment.



Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow a portfolio of strategic customer accounts, accountable for revenue, margin, and long‑term relationship performance
  • Develop and execute focused account plans aligned with customer needs, market conditions, and business objectives
  • Own commercial negotiations including pricing, contracts, and volume commitments
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management for two sales team members
  • Partner cross‑functionally with operations, supply planning, logistics, and finance to ensure execution and service reliability
  • Act as an escalation point for key customer issues and drive timely resolution
  • Deliver accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and performance updates to the General Manager


Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in key account management, B2B sales, or commercial roles
  • Experience in lumber, hardwood products, forest products, or building materials is not required but is considered an asset.
  • Proven success managing complex or strategic customer relationships
  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing commercial agreements
  • Strong financial, analytical, and forecasting capabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership or people‑management experience, or readiness to step into a leadership role
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory as required
