Description

The Manager, Data Analytics leads the Transportation & Logistics (T&L) Division’s analytics function—turning data into actionable insights. This role owns the analytics roadmap for T&L and partners with senior leaders to deliver practical, sustainable improvements using descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.

Working alongside business leaders, this position identifies high-value opportunities, translates operational questions into analytic approaches, and communicates insights in a way that drives decisions and adoption. The role offers broad exposure to multiple business models and the divisional leadership team.

The Manager, Data Analytics champions a data- and analytics-driven culture across T&L by educating leaders and staff on emerging trends and opportunities, strengthening data governance and quality, and enabling teams to achieve divisional plans through measurement, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of analysts; set priorities, ensure quality, and build capability across the analytics lifecycle.
  • Define and execute the T&L analytics strategy and roadmap aligned to divisional goals and key performance indicators.
  • Oversee the design and use of analytical models (predictive and prescriptive) and ensure solutions are explainable, scalable, and fit for operational decision-making.
  • Partner with stakeholders to frame business problems, identify opportunities to leverage data, and deliver solutions that are adopted and sustained.
  • Stay current with analytics, data engineering, and machine learning trends; assess applicability to the T&L operating environment.
  • Evaluate, select, and standardize tools and approaches for analysis, visualization, and model deployment in collaboration with enterprise partners (e.g., IT, Data Governance).
  • Own and strengthen data governance for T&L, including data quality management, privacy/security compliance, clear metric definitions, data stewardship, documentation/metadata, and controls that support a reliable single source of truth.
  • Deliver analytics initiatives that drive measurable improvements (e.g., service, cost, safety, productivity) and achieve sustained adoption through change management and operational integration.
  • Establish trusted performance measurement (KPIs, dashboards, and reporting) so operational decisions are supported by clear definitions, repeatable insights, and a single source of truth.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data science, including experience delivering measurable operational outcomes.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to coach and develop high-performing teams, build new capability, and maintain an engaged, collaborative culture.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to translate business needs into analytic questions, hypotheses, and prioritized work.
  • Advanced proficiency with analytics and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python/R, Power BI/Tableau) and statistical/ML methods; ability to explain complex topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with data governance and data quality, including data stewardship practices, metric/data definitions, documentation/metadata, and controls that increase confidence in reporting and reduce rework (privacy, security, and appropriate access).
  • Demonstrated comfort working in environments where priorities evolve and success depends on collaboration, judgment, and adaptability.
