Midland Transport is currently seeking a Linehaul Dispatch Supervisor to be based at our Head Office in Dieppe, NB. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising Linehaul Dispatch, including Fleet coordinators and planning teams, to meet service expectations at the highest equipment utilization and best cost for Midland Asset Operations. The selected individual must lead a team to meet individual Daily Management targets and be required to coach the team to ensure targets and goals are met. Occasionally they will need to cover dispatch or planner duties to cover vacations and vacancies.

• Responsible for the day-time dispatch and planning operations. Must ensure plans optimize equipment, costs and service.
• Responsible for managing the Linehaul Department schedule, helping ensure all shifts are covered.
• Responsible for the supervision, training, and development of all Fleet coordinators and Planners.
• Required to lead team meanings, deliver KPI results, and drive actions for improvement. A key contributor in leading Daily Management in the Linehaul team.
• Responsible for ensuring a proper shift handoff occurs between incoming and outgoing planning groups.
• Support any business process improvement initiatives. Must have strong system knowledge.
Education Required: Trade Certification or College Diploma in a related field would be an asset
Years of Experience Required:
5 years of dispatch experience
3 years management and/or supervision experience would be an asset
• Strong computer skills, with intermediate abilities in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create detailed reports using different software
• Previous experience using AS 400/Cognos would be an asset
