Description

Midland Transport is looking for a motivated individual to work as a Parts Administrator, reporting to the Maintenance Manager for our Toronto Garage. We are looking for someone who has the drive to go above and beyond the call of duty in providing Superior Quality Service for our customers. Selected candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a “Can Do” attitude. 

Shift
Monday – Friday (Dayshift 8am - 4:30pm)



Responsibilities
  • Sourcing parts for technicians and comparing costs from multiple vendors to optimize materials cost while building vendor relations. Collecting parts from vendors as needed when there are breakdowns in the shop. As well as preparing part cores for returns when applicable. Ensure cleanliness of stockroom with proper labelling and ensuring parts are restocked daily.
  • Create Purchase Orders to maintain inventory for the shop. Help manage and sustain Min/Max levels for Ontario shops to prevent supplies from running out. Ensure part location is accurate in the database. Periodic review may be necessary to adapt inventory levels based on fleet changes and frequency of parts utilization/movement.
  • Conducting year end physical inventory counts with team to reconcile for accounting purposes, as well as ensure inventory is accurate throughout the year by conducting occasional cycle counts and reviewing work orders to spot errors and correct inventory.
  • Commuting to Cambridge as required to assist with receiving parts, creating purchase orders and submitting cores/returns.
  • Assisting with processing warranty claims for the Ontario shops to recover material costs.
  • Ensures adequate parts inventory is maintained at the garage and assists in locating specialized parts when required.
  • May require collecting parts not normally kept in inventory from vendors to enable technicians to continue with repairs instead of collecting parts themselves.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned by the shop manager.


Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or Trade Certification / College Diploma 
  • Years of Experience: 2 years’ experience in a similar role are required
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Professional, accommodating, enthusiastic, and supportive demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Parts inventory and Warranties 
  • Functional/Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
