Join Our Team as a Social Media Strategist at Atlantic Lottery!
Reporting to the Manager, Creative & Content Strategy, the Social Media Strategist is responsible for shaping and growing Atlantic Lottery's social media presence across corporate, brand, and product channels. This role develops and executes social media strategies that strengthen brand awareness, engage audiences, and support business objectives.
In this 18-month term, you will be working closely with marketing, communications, creative teams, and external partners. The Social Media Strategist creates compelling content, fosters meaningful audience engagement, and uses performance insights to continuously optimize results. - Develop and execute social media strategies that support brand awareness, audience engagement, and business goals.
- Create and deliver compelling content and campaigns that connect with audiences across social platforms.
- Build and strengthen online communities by fostering meaningful interactions and positive brand experiences.
- Use performance data and audience insights to optimize content, engagement, and channel effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support integrated marketing and communications initiatives.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities to keep Atlantic Lottery's social media presence innovative and relevant.
What you'll need
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in social media, digital marketing, communications, content marketing, or a related field
- Experience developing and executing social media strategies and managing social media channels for a brand, organization, or agency
- Experience creating and delivering engaging content across digital and social media platforms
- Experience analyzing performance metrics and using insights to optimize content and audience engagement
- Must be 19 years of age or older and reside in Atlantic Canada.
Professional Skills:
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, audience behaviors, emerging trends, and industry best practices
- Exceptional storytelling, copywriting, and content planning skills
- Proficiency with social media management, monitoring, and analytics tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Assets:
- Experience working with external agencies, vendors, or creative partners
- Experience supporting brands in a regulated industry
- Experience with photography, video production, or other digital content creation
- Bilingualism in English and French.
Work Location & Flexibility
This role may be based out of one of our Atlantic Canadian offices: Moncton, NB; Dartmouth, NS; or St. John's, NL.
- During probation: Full-time, in-office (Moncton preferred for onboarding)
- After probation: Choice of full-time in-office or hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite)
Compensation
- Salary Band: $75,200 - $122,200
- Expected Hiring Range: $79,900 - $82,000 (based on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity)

Recruitment Process

Role Commitment
To support employee development, business continuity, and knowledge transfer, individuals who accept this position are expected to remain in the role for a minimum of 18 months before being eligible to apply for or transfer to another position within Atlantic Lottery.
This expectation applies to both external hires and employees moving into the role from another position.
Internal Candidates
Internal applicants must be in good standing, including meeting expectations on their most recent performance review, and must not be on probation. Consideration may also include factors such as performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, attendance, and completion of mandatory training.
A Predictive Index (PI) assessment will be completed or shared with the hiring leader as part of the evaluation process.
Eligibility to Work in Canada
Candidates must have all required work permits, visas, and authorizations and be eligible to work in Canada at the time an offer is made. It is the candidate's responsibility to secure these requirements.
