The Opportunity

Build the Future with Us – This is your chance to lead a high‑impact municipal engineering team shaping the infrastructure and communities of Fredericton and the surrounding region. As a Team Lead, Municipal Engineering, you’ll guide multidisciplinary project delivery, strengthen client relationships, and drive local growth while mentoring a team committed to excellence.

Your Impact

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of municipal engineering professionals delivering water, wastewater, stormwater, roadway, and public works projects across Moncton and New Brunswick.
  • Champion resource planning, recruitment, career development, and performance management to grow a resilient and engaged municipal practice.
  • Drive  business development initiatives, build trusted client partnerships, and elevate WSP’s market presence in the region.
  • Guide  project managers in proactively managing scope, schedule, financials, quality, and delivery using WSP’s project management tools.
  • Oversee workload balancing and utilization, supporting inter‑office collaboration across Atlantic Canada.
  • Provide senior technical leadership, review and authentication of engineering deliverables, and ensure adherence to WSP quality processes.
  • Collaborate with municipalities, regulators, utilities, consultants, developers, and contractors to advance community‑shaping infrastructure.
  • Promote a culture of safety, innovation, continuous improvement, and client satisfaction.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or diploma in civil technologies) with eligibility for P.Eng. or CET registration in New Brunswick.
  • At least 10 years of experience.
  • Experience delivering and leading municipal infrastructure projects such as water, wastewater, drainage systems, or transportation corridors.
  • Strong familiarity with municipal clients, permitting processes, and infrastructure priorities within Atlantic Canada.
  • Proven ability to mentor, develop, and motivate technical teams while fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Business development experience with demonstrated success building client relationships and growing market share.
  • Proficiency with design and modeling tools used in municipal engineering (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, hydrotechnical modeling).

Compensation

  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $89,800 – $118,900
  • MB & ON: $81,900 – $112,800
  • NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $81,100 - $107,700
