Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.

The Vehicle Management Agency (VMA)’s mission is to provide fleet management and vehicle maintenance services to Government, on an economical basis and according to established standards, to enable clients to deliver quality services to the public.

The Agency is a client service-based organization and responsible for acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of the Province of New Brunswick fleet.  It operates 28 repair facilities, one fabrication facility and 72 fuelling sites around the province.

What you will do

Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• providing leadership, guidance, and support to employees, while ensuring effective teamwork and performance;
• managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial/performance reporting;
• providing client advisory services;
• advising senior management and district operations;
• contributing to strategic and business planning for Vehicle Management Agency;
• leading overall financial, budgetary, and administrative operations of the agency.

Work environment:

• Office Location:  1050 College Hill Road, Fredericton.
• Standard hours of work:  Monday – Friday.

• Some travel within the province may be required

Essential Qualifications:

• University degree in Business Administration or Commerce.
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) accounting designation.
• A minimum of six (6) years of related experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications:

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset:

• experience in managing government budgets and financial reporting;
• knowledge of provincial procurement policies and procedures;
• certification or training in project management (e.g., PMP);
• experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle or SAPsi.

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY:

Pay Band 6:  $2,991.00 to $3,979.00 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week.
