The Opportunity

• Assist with cleaning and refurbishing units after tenant move outs and in preparation for re-occupancy; occasionally assist with tenant move outs.
• Repair foundation including crack repairs, parging, flashing and related mortar installations and repair wall frames, floors and partitions, and roofs and sheathing.
• Install, maintain, and repair the following finished carpentry components: door jambs, doors, exterior fascia, soffits, railings and wood trim, counters, cupboards, shelving, windows, glass, and screening.
• Operate motorized equipment such as snow blowers, small tractors, lawn mowers, cement mixers, salt spreaders, etc.
• Replace and maintain wardrobe and closets, toilet and bath accessories, drapery track and postal boxes, identifying devices and clothesline poles and pulleys.
• Replace and repair asphalt and wood shingles, siding, building paper, gable, eave and roof vents, eaves trough, conductor pipe and flashing.
• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces and apply paint, stain, and varnish and associated sealers.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Must Have

• Grade 12 or high school equivalent plus five years' experience in building and property maintenance or a related field is required. Must be able to perform basic tasks in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting and drywall.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Ability to operate electrical and mechanical tools and equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks using good body mechanics.

Assets:

• Competency in Yardi Property Management software.
• Current Emergency First Aid and/or WHMIS certifications.
• Knowledge of computer systems.

An equivalent combination of training, education and experience may be considered.

This position requires a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. Regular travel within Northern District is required.

• Salary: $22.38 - $25.61 hourly (TE 13)
• Schedule: 35-hour work week
