The AV/VC Support Unit delivers enterprise operational support, complex installations, and lifecycle management of classroom, meeting, and collaboration technologies.

Salary Range: $56,416 - $73,324 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director, Client Services, the Senior AV/VC Analyst leads complex AV/VC installations, manages system monitoring and technical escalations, and provides senior-level consultations to academic and administrative stakeholders to support operational and space-specific AV/VC requirements.
- Lead and execute complex AV/VC installations, system upgrades, programming, and room conversions involving multiple integrated technologies.
- Coordinate installation activities, configure advanced system components, and ensure implementations align with approved enterprise AV/VC standards, designs, and integration requirements.
- Oversee technical execution for high-impact or non-routine installations, resolve complex implementation issues, and ensure completed systems meet functional, safety, and user experience expectations prior to operational handoff.
- Accountable for the day-to-day operational health and reliability of the enterprise AV/VC environment.
- Overseeing monitoring tools, performance indicators, and alert mechanisms to proactively identify issues, assess service trends, and prevent service degradation across supported spaces.
- Coordinate response to detected issues, lead operational remediation efforts, and ensure persistent or systemic problems are escalated appropriately.
- Develop and maintain clear, accurate operational documentation, procedures, and system records to support monitoring, troubleshooting, knowledge transfer, and effective Tier 1 and Tier 2 support.
- Act as the primary Tier 3 escalation point for AV/VC Analysts and Technologists, resolving complex technical issues and service incidents that cannot be addressed through standard procedures. This includes diagnosing multi-component system issues, coordinating troubleshooting across technologies, and restoring service for high-impact academic and administrative spaces.
- Assess incident severity, determine appropriate corrective actions, and escalate systemic or persistent issues to the AV/VC Architect or vendors as required. Through advanced technical expertise and escalation leadership, the position ensures timely resolution, service stability, and minimized disruption to teaching and operations.
- Provide advanced technical enterprise-wide consultation to faculties, departments, and other UNB stakeholders for high-impact spaces, events, and non-standard AV/VC requirements.
- Manage the operational ordering of AV/VC equipment and materials in support of installations, upgrades, and service continuity. This includes coordinating with approved vendors on pricing, delivery schedules, warranties, and return or replacement (RMA) processes, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels to support ongoing operations.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and comfortable working in confined spaces.
- Regular travel between UNB campuses and sites required. UNB approved travel is reimbursed in accordance with UNB's Travel Policy.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering or equivalent college diploma and associated experience
- 6-8 years of progressive experience supporting, installing, and troubleshooting AV/VC systems in an enterprise environment
Additional Strengths
- Expertise with Crestron / Extron control systems
- Advanced experience with collaboration platforms
- Experience with Microsoft Teams Rooms
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Advanced experience with configuring audio DSP platforms (e.g., Q-SYS, Biamp)
- Experience with AV cabling standards (HDMI, HDBaseT, CAT6, fiber)
- Advanced signal flow for audio and video
- Installation and configuration of displays, mounts, projectors, microphones, speakers
- Use of test equipment (toner, cable testers, multimeter)
- Advanced network awareness for AV endpoints (VLANs, PoE, IP control)
- Safe work practices around power, lifts, and ladders
- Flexibility in working hours including participation in occasional scheduled on-call after hours support and time shifting
- Participation in after-hours emergency response
- Ability to prioritize work, apply departmental standards and meet deadlines
- Must have ability to travel
